The Area Chairman and team arrange two Area Meetings per year where we bring together representatives from all twelve societies to give them an opportunity to exchange ideas and benefit from the experiences (good and less good) of other societies. The Area Meetings have a theme and a guest speaker (usually a National Trustee of The Arts Society). This is an excellent forum for representatives of local societies to hear first-hand about new Arts Society initiatives and strategies, to ask questions and to express their views and concerns. The Area Meetings also usually include a specialist session for the Lecture Programme or Visits organisers to discuss their experiences and swap ideas.

The Area Chairman also holds one informal meeting a year for the twelve society Chairmen and the Area Team which is a useful opportunity for free discussion about any topic they wish to raise.
